From North East District President, Tracey Richey

Northeast District President, Tracey Richey :

Dear Northeast District United Methodist Women,

I can’t believe it is almost the middle of August.  Where has the time gone?  Today I am praying for much needed rain in northeast Arkansas.  School started yesterday, and I am hoping for a colorful fall.  I hope each of you are doing well and are supporting your local United Methodist

Women Units.

The Fall meeting is September 22nd at St Paul UMC Searcy; be sure to read the details and make plans to be there.  The newsletter also contains the proposed  2019 budget,  bylaws

changes and slate of officers.  There is a place for you to serve on the district leadership team.

Please notice the openings and if you would like to know more, contact Gayle Silberhorn,

nominations chair.

This will be my last article as president of the Northeast District.  I wanted to thank everyone for

the support given to me while serving the district during the last ten years. I have enjoyed

serving in a variety of offices including nominations, treasurer, vice president and president.  It

has been a wonderful experience and one I would recommend to each of you.  I wish the best

for each unit and each member of United Methodist Women in the Northeast District.

I know each of you will support the newly elected officers when they begin their term of service

in January.  I look forward to seeing all of you around the district.

I will leave you with one of my favorite verses; Micah 6:8:

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.

With gratitude and warm regards,

I am sincerely yours,

Tracey Ritchey
